Gov Richd Yates

Dear Sir

My youngest son Francis E. Heron left home on the 25th March and on the 27th enlisted in Belvidere in Co. B 58 Reg Ill Infantry and is now in Springfield.

Now my dear Sir I hope that you will not think it too much trouble to see the Capt of the Co. and have him discharged, as he is, tho' large of his age, not yet 17 years of age, his mother is much distressed in consequence and will feel very gratefull if you will so act in the matter as to procure his discharge. I am sorry

to trespass upon your time in this matter but hope that the circumstances of the case will be a sufficient excuse -

I remain Dear Sir

Very Respectfully

Your Obt Servt
