Dear Sir: The bearer of this, Professor I. K. Miller has enlisted in a volunteer company in process of formation at this place, but he fears it may not be accepted, in which case he desires to obtain some situation at Springfield & will probably go there in a day or two for that purpose. Prof. Miller is a very worthy gentleman & would perform the duties of any situation well that might be assigned him. I will be under additional obligations to you if you would aid him in the premises.
