Description

This collection features photographs relating to the Blackford Family of Findlay, Ohio. Price Blackford (1804-1851) of Pennsylvania married Abigail Slater (1805-1845) and together had six children in their Ohio Homestead. Their youngest son, Albert J. Blackford (1843-1919) enlisted during the Civil War in Company F, 107th Illinois Infantry Regiment in August 1862 and received a full Captain promotion by September 1864. Albert J. Blackford served as an aide de camp to several generals, including William T. Sherman. After mustering out on June 21, 1865, Albert held several post-war jobs, including a printer, merchant, and salesman.

Photographs in this collection include images of the Price and Abigail Blackford family home in Ohio and portraits of individuals.
