The Davidson-Springer family descended from Isham Gilham Davidson and Sarah Ann Springer of Edwardsville, Illinois, and later Petersburg, Illinois. The couple had eight children including James Monroe Davidson and William Taylor Davidson, editors of The Fulton Democrat newspaper in Lewistown, Illinois.
