The Purcell Family Collection contains images of Charles E. Purcell of Kewanee, Illinois, and his son in law, William H. McFerson of Quincy, Illinois. Purcell and McFerson lived in Illinois until the 1900s when they relocated with their families to Boulder, Colorado. McFerson served in the Field Artillery during World War I. Photographs in this collection also include images of the U. S. S. Minnesota transporting soldiers during World War I and daily life in Kewanee, Illinois.
