You know that this Regt never had  its Rights cince it is out in this [Dept?] So you will oblige me mutch if you will grant my wish  their is but one more here of the 39th. To my sorrow I lost my arm last June 2nd. Amputated I have understood by letter that the Regt. has bene greatly cut up this campaign

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I write to procure through you a pass to &amp;amp; from Willitts Point, New York Harbor to bring a sick son from the Grant General Hospital. My Son has served nearly three years and has seen hard service in the Army of the Potomac he now lies sick at the above named place.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am a Massachusetts Lady &amp;amp; my son inlisted there, and since the death of my other [two?] sons I have come to reside here  I have but one son and all my means of support through this war. If I was in Boston I could procure a pass through Gov. Andrews as I am well acquainted with him. My son William H. Bugbee was Capt of the First Excelsior Brigade. He and myself equipped the First Company of that &amp;amp; it was about the first that left Boston for the seat of War and I feel that I am not asking too much of you. If you can procure me one please do so at once &amp;amp; receive the Greatful thanks of your humble sevt
