Sir: You will immediately issue orders to Colonel Austin Light, commanding "Yates Phalanx" 39th Regiment, Illinois Volunteers, at Chicago to move with his command immediately to Saint Louis Missouri and report for orders to Brigadier General Samuel R. Curtis.
Captain A.R. Eddy United States Quarter Master has been notified and will supply transportation.
