Your unfortunate condition should awaken the sympathy of all patriotic men

It is impossible in the great number of cases like your own but that some should fail to receive that attention that their wants require or their patriotic services deserve We have at present no state fund for the support of soldiers wifes & families nor has this state any control over the paymasters of US Army they being under direct instruction from War Department at Washington City

It is to be hoped that before this reaches you the pay due you from the Genl Government will have been sent in which case your safest plan would be to send it to your family for Expenses
