My Dear Sir:
I am directed by His Excellency Gov Yates to inform you of due receipt of your letter of 26th May and to inform you that he has requested A Genl USA (by telegraph) to order you supplied with Spencer Carbines as you requested He said to the Adjt Genl "that the 7th was a Veteran and one of the best Cav. Regts in the Country" and His Excellency earnestly desires that your wishes may be gratified in every respect.
