His Excellency Richard Yates. Governor. Ill.
Dear sir. Your dispatch was received the day after we had acted in the House upon the extension of the bounties. We passed the Joint Resolution in the House, extending them until the 1st of April. The senate has not acted upon it. What the action of the senate may be, it is hard to guess. It met unexpected opposition there. I have shown your dispatch to all the delegation who are present.
