To whom it may concern:
Mr Reeser, the bearer of this desires to go to Knoxville Tenn. to bring back his brother in law Elias Bennett, a member of the Elgin Battery, who has been for a long time sick in the hospital. It is reported that Bennetts officers are entirely willing that he should go home, but he is too sick to come without assistance and great care.
It gives me pleasure to say that Mr Reeser is one of our old citizens and a man of excellent character. He is worthy the confidence of the military authorities and I heartily commend him to their kind consideration. Any aid or facilities they may extend to him will be worthily bestowed.
Isaac G. Wilson
Circuit Judge
P.S. Mr Bennetts wife also desires to accompany Mr Reeser.
