Gov. R. Yates
Dear Sir
There was quite a mistake made in regard to my Company I thought it was well understood when I was at Springfield that I had a company of my own and myself the Capt. and that It was accepted not however By you but by [Parmer?] Marcial and others having that thing in char
ge. Yet the redgement was Made up and I was left out why I do not know. Hence I did make any effort for a redgeamental position.
But I should like some position in the Cervice if you have one which you think I would fill Satisfactorly to yourself, and the rest of Mankind.
Should like the appointment of Pay Master - as you suggested to me whilst at Springfield
We have fourced the Egyptian Democry to Deal in for the Union but it is quite a forced [illegible] with many
Yours Most
Respectfuly
