one more I trouble you to day Brings this news yesterday Hon W Sloan came over Sole and body to the union cause it will show you how things are geting along I told you I would try to Silence our paper I faild to do so in the way I wished which was to cause him to come out for the Union I then came at him with a full batery I aranged it to have several to quit him and I think in a short time it will go down or change hands I send you a letter written by a good man the editor Read it and threw it down in the office I thought if it was published in some paper & Leave out the names with a few Remarks it might do some good it is Rumered heare that the Mosurians intend to be friendly with Harney and get him naping and over run him Harny never has ben caught naping but it would not hurt to Let him know the talk four men staid hear Last Knight from New orlean one of them my acquaintince has mad 71 trips to the City as stearsman
