(Louisiana) Dear Sir Your letter of 19th inst. is received and in reply would say that the law and order of the War Dept. is that under any circumstances. Soldiers enlist for three years. No recruiting officers are ordered - legally - to enlist men for a less term. We have frequent applications for similar informa- tion but all receive the same answer - If you have been decieved by recruiting officer, it is Your own misfortune and I regret that I cannot give you the [illegible] you deserve.
