Hon George H. Harlow, Pekin Ills
Dear Sir
In the absence of Governor Yates I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your favor of th 22 inst. and to inform you in reply that the Governor is now in Washington for the purpose of securing more of our Soldiers votes.
The arrangement for securing the Vote of all our Illinois boys confined in hospitals has been effected, and agents are now engaged in having them furloughed.
I can assure you that every effort
possible is being made by the Governor -
I will refer your letter to him as soon as he returns and hope you will be able to obtain enough of your soldiers votes to carry your District beyond a doubt -
The prospect is very flattering in this portion of our State -
Very Respectfully Your Obedt Servt
John W. Snyder Col & ADC
