I have the honor to recommend to your favorable attention Mr. S M Trulock of Co I 72d Regt Ills Vols who is 54 years of age has a large family and in very poor circumstances.
Mr Trulock has been in the service over two years as a Private during which time he has been always at his post discharging
his duty faithfully. He is a most worthy man and in every way qualified to perform the duties of Capt & A.Q.M. or A.C.S.
His promotion to that grade would be a merited tribute for his services
