Gentlemen:

You are hereby appointed a Committee to investigate the charges made in the enclosed petition from inmate of the U. S. General Hospital regarding quality and quantity of food furnished to the patients in said Hospitals and to take all necessary proper steps to obtain evidence on said charges, and to report to me or to my successor in Office the result of said examination.

All Officers of the U S Army to whom this may be presented are requested to furnish the Committee above named such assistance as they may require to carry
