St Louis May 7th
Dear Gov.
I learn from the morning paper that you have consented to be present in St Louis during the ensuing Fair.
Now Sir, not to be prolix I write at the instance of my Father to invite you to make your home with us while you are in the City. I need not say that my Father & his family would esteem it a great pleasure & privilege to have you with us, & I write thus early in order not to be forestalled by some one else.
Hoping that you may find
it convenient to accept, I remain as ever
Yours truly
T. A. Post
His Excellency Richd Yates.
