Dear Governor I am in receipt of your kind letter concerning Trumbull's

I am satisfied with affairs at present. I wished the Prest to understand my position & care very little about others.

I should like very well to go to Washington and to Baltimore at the time of the Convention. I am well assured that it is not the intention of the Lieut. General’s Advisers to put me on duty.

Time will force them to do this. Meanwhile let the world roll on.

Fuller has lost Cook Co & will lose the nomination

Yours Truly S A Hurlbut
