I take pleasure in introducing to your favorable acquaintance Capt. James Niccolls of this place a gentleman who I have long known and can say that Capt Niccolls is just the kind of man the Government require for the present emergency Captain Niccolls wishes to enter the service as Capt. of Dragoons and will fully explain to you in detail his wishes I take pleasure in recommending him to you as the man capable of doing what he undertakes & hope his proposition may meet your approval
