Dear Sir
Mr. David T. Lister a young lawyer of this town is an applicant for the office of quarter master of the Regiment to which Tom Larrison's Company will be assigned Larrison desires he should get the appointment if possible, and as it appears that the appointment will only be made by the Governor upon the Colonel's recomendation, he desires me to forward you the enclosed papers and ask you if consistent with your views to assist him in getting that position.
