His Excellency Governor Yates directs me to state in reply to yours of the 14th inst That on the 28th of Dec. last he forwarded to [illegible] two complimentary Commissions, one for Edwin B. Goodrich as Captain Ills. Vols, the other for Frederick H King as 1st Lieut Ills Vols. Will you please inform his Excellency, if you have received them and if they are such as you desired.
