Northwestern Sanitary Commission,
BRANCH OF U.S. SANITARY COMMISSION,
Rooms, No. 66 Madison Street.
Chicago July 30th 1864 -
Govenor Yates,
Dear Sir,
I thank you, for your second letter, received today. Neither Capt. Potter nor myself, suspected that my son ranked Capt. Campbell. otherwise, I should not have made the request. Much as I desire the change of my son's locality, I would not purchase it by a dishonorable action. Should an opening occur within your knowledge, of a position in this region, for my son, I should be greatly obliged for any information, and your influence. Please explain my ignorance of the circumstances, to Capt. Campbell.
Gratefully & sincerely
