Sir,

I have been detached from My Battery, Chicago Board of Trade for Some Nine Months owing to being pronounced unfit for Active Service in the field. I am an humble exhorter in the church, Methodist of which I am a Member & feel an Ardent desire to work for the Lord in the great and extensive Vineyard of the Army. I have no influence to recommend me to your Notice. I Simply ask this appointment on My own Merits. I have unexceptional Credentials
