Hon. W. Bushnell, Ottowa, Ill, Dear Sir:
In reply to your favor, addressed to Mr Hatch, I desire to state that I have called upon Mr Stearne and found him perfectly willing to waive service of notice &c, with the understanding, that he have time sufficient, to make a proper defense. The Journal of the last session is in the keeping of the Clerk and Mr. Stearne has no access to the same. Mr Harmond will be send for and I have agreed that the case shall not be prep d. until Mr Stearne has had time sufficient to procure the presence of Mr. Harmand. This is but [fair?]
