Jane Addams was a leader in the women's suffrage movement, founder of the famous settlement house, Chicago's Hull House, and recipient of the 1931 Nobel Peace Prize.
On verso: "Hull House Head Lectures on 'Arts and Crafts'. Miss. Jane Addams, head of Hull House since it was founded more than forty years ago was the principal speaker today at the first series of lectures in connection with opening of the Hull House Shop in the Michigan Square Bldg. The subject of her talk was 'Arts and craft at Hull House for forty years' and included in exhibition of native crafts from the Mexicans in the Hull House neighborhood; 5-Miss Jane Addams looking over a few of the paintings that were on exhibition during her lecture."
