Dear Sir

After my respects I desire to ask for a soldier a favor. James D. Roberts a corporal of Co. B 96th Reg. Ill. Vol. Inf, aged 38 years 6 ft 1in dark complexion hazle eyes dark hair by prof. a farmer Received a furlough for 60 days to go from Ft Morgan Alabama to Bloomington Ill.

His mother left McLean Co and moved to Cedar falls Iowa.

His furlough is granted on acct. of sickness and his principal object was to visit his mother

Can you give him permission to go to Cedar fall Iowa by your own of any other authority?

If you can you will confer a favor on your humble servant
