Mr. Govner Sir
it is through the Misfortunes of War that it has become nesessary for Me. to Make the following remarks.
Govner I am sorrow to inform you that I am at present Wounded and in the Hospital at Fort Monroe Virginia I am sorrow to Say also that We can't hav proper treatment in any respect. We don't hav vitals Sufficient for any one to liv on & for My part I am in as good as I ever Was and there fore I require different eatibles besides (low)? diet.
I was Wounded on the 13th of Oct last I had the Misfortune as to get My left foot broken, So that I Wont be able for Service for Several months yet any how
but I am at present So that I Can be up around on Crutches, but the foot being broken So that I Wont be able to Walk an it for Some time if I do atall this Winter, I Spoke to the Sergeon in Charge this Morning. if he Would grant me a furlaugh and the answer he gave me Was that there hast been orders issued against Granting furlaughs until The first of January /65 and as I am not fit for Service nor Wont be this Winter. I do Sincearly ask the favor of you to hav me transfered to My own respectivly State as that Seems to be the only Way to obtain permission to get there, I am a member of Co. B, 39th Regt. Ills. Vols.
I Was Wounded in front of Richmond Va and if it is in your power to hav me Transferred pleas do So and oblige me So I believe that is all of the remarks That I have To Make at present. So pleas
reply and let me know Weather I Can be transferred or not, so no more only I hav the honor to Subcribe My Self your obedient Servant
