Dear Sir:
I recd your letter on Saturday directed to Joliet. It was forwarded to me from their but not the [illegible] & Speaches. I am a going up to Joliet & if their I will get them & they will be to me a great Treat as the [illegible] were to the Children of Israel. & their is nothing that will give me more pleasure than to distribute speaches from a Man who has devoted his whole time for the last 4 years to the real good of the State of Illinois. I will endeavor to get the Speaches & give them a hearty welcome through old Will. My acquaintance with you has been but slightly I hapened to be one of that lucky who helpt Nominate you at Decatur & I met you once but be that as it may you will always find me a pin in a sure place any thing you want from Old Will just let me know & I want to hear from you any way for I calculate to call down & see you this winter.
