We wish to call your attention to the case of Capt B. F. Campbell of Co B 36'th Regt Ill Vol Inft _ We have learned to day that the Lieut Col intended to resign and that Capt C would be the ranking officer _ In our corespondence with Capt Campbell (who has been a Prisoner at Richmond & Charston for over fourteen months) we have learned from him that he wished to continue in the Service and we write thus to you to Make a request that the position May be Kept open for him _ He is a worthy officer and has seen service...over

He was with Col Sherman for some time and was to have been Exchanged with him but in some way was delayed in reaching the place when they were to be Exchanged
Anything that can be done for him will be appreciated
