I am a private in Company "G" twenty third 23d Illinois Volunteers. and have the honor to request to be transferred from German town to Camp Douglas Chicago Ills, being severely wounded in the left arm, so as to be unfit for active service, and my parents an aged Father and Mother reside in Chicago and of course it would be gratifying to me to be near them, being in active duty for the last four years.
