Respected Sir
Pardon the liberty I take in addressing you, but nessity Compeles me to do so. Sir I have been in the hospital. Some Six months with Sore eyes. after beig hear under treatment forre months and knowing that my eyes are not as well as they were when I came here. I have asked for a transfer and have ben [of] informed there was no chance to get one + to my own State which is Ill for I belong to the 117th Ill where I can get my eyes cared for. I am confident that they [nenes] will be cured hear. I have Comrades that Come in to the Hospital at the same
time who Received a transfer to Chicago where their eyes have ben cured and they have Returned to duty. [illegible] Sir as a Soldier that is willing and wants to Serve his Country I ask it as a [fanas] of you to grant me a transfer to Some Hospital in my own State where I can get my Cured. [No] More I have the [hanner] to Remain.
