You will Suffer me to address you a few lines to inform you of My Condition, after serving Eighteen months in the field my health failed me and I received A Sick furlough on the 11th of April last and from that time to the present I have been unable for Duty and now I have only eight Months to serve and they want to put me in the Invalid Corps And I have a wife and four children to care for without a home that they can call their own. I think it unjust that I should be Served thus if you can do any thing for my relief I would receive

it as a lasting favour I enclose a letter that my family Doctor Sent to the Surgeon in charge relative to my health and my Domestic concerns

You will please write to Surgeon Brinton Requesting him to give me a thorough examination And if worthy, of a Discharge to do so
