After my best respects to your honor I wish to Know whether their is any orders for reinlisting the 100 days Regts if So upon what Terms how many Reinlistments will be required To hold the original organization I have as you are aware been in the Service ever since the rebellion began commencing as 1st Lieut and I wish to reinlist this Regt or as much of it as possible and remain in the Service I have helped To raise two Regts the 40th Ills and this one and the time for volenteering ceases Two days before the expiration of of our present term of Service which will (Debar?) me from raising a Regt for the present Call. I am Sure I could do so if I had the time as I have never failed yet if this Regt is not To reinlist Remember me in Some of the new ones to be raised if it is not asking to much of you please post me in these things
as I am now So Situated that I Cannot visit your City I am Thankful for past favors and will Ever feel greatful for any thing you may be able to do for me
My best Respects to uncle Jesse K Dubois he has a Commendation which was presented to me when I left my former Regt If I Can do nothing under the present Call I will apply To agt (Geor?) Thomas for permission To go To atlanta Ga and raise a cold Regt if I do apply I Shall refer him to your honor and uncle Jesse among other friends
