Dear Sir
Mr H Mills of this county has a son in the 104th who has been sick for some time was for a time at New Albany Hospitle in Indiana was transfered to Quincy in this state he is now (as he informs me) down with the cronick rheumatism he wished me to see if he could not get a furlow for him so as to get him home so as to take care of him till he is able for the service he does not ask for him to be discharged only wishes to get him home untill he is able for duty his name is Parker Mills in the 104 reg.
Has father is a good Union man a reliable if he could get his son home it would be a great satisfaction to him an he would send him back to the reg as soon as he is able for duty if it is in your Power to do anny thing for him it will be esteemed as a great favour Should you be able to procure a furlow for him please send it to Henry Mills Magnolia Putnam Co so his Father could go and attend to him on the road home this will be handed to you by the Revd Geo D. Hendesra who visits your town for the purpose of endeavering to have the credits we are entitled to for the number we have heretofore furnished
anny information or assistance you may be able to furnish him will be duly apreciated and thankfully recived
