Sir,
I have the honor to inform you in reply to your letter of the 26th. ult. requesting that same action may be taken to alleviate the condition of Lieut. C. W. Paray 80th. Ills. Infantry. a prisoner of War, in close confinement, that by an agreement recently made with the rebel authorities. all Federal prisoners of War. so held. are to be immediately released from close confinement or Irons.

In reply to Govr's request for the release of Lieut C W. Paray of 80th Ills Vols. says that by an agreement recently made with the rebels, all prisoners (federal) held in close confinement or Irons, are to be immediately released.
