Permit me to present to your acquaintance and favorable Consideration Mr Patrick Kelley of this city Mr Kelley is quite well posted in military matters & has done more for the cause we are engaged in than any one of his countrymen in this city.

He has failed in raising & organizing a company through causes which entitle him to your highest respect & sympathy. He would like the Post of Lieutenant in some regiment & if any such position is at your command I beg of you to give him the post

The aid thus extended to him would be richly deserved and would tell in many ways too numerous to mention. As a modest Patriotic energetic & worthy man I hope & Pray that you will do all for him in your power
