Resolutions passed at a meeting held at West Cramlington, Northumberland, Saturday, May 20, 1865.
That this meeting desires to convey to Mrs. Lincoln, President Johnson, Mr. Seward, and the people of the United States, the expression of its utter abhorrence of the assassination of President Lincoln, its condolence for the loss sustained, and its heartfelt hope that peace and freedom may bless forever the land of promise in the west.
That the Hon. Charles Francis Adams, United States ambassador in London, be respectfully requested to transmit to Mrs. Lincoln, President Johnson, and the Hon. William H. Seward, copies of the foregoing resolutions.
