Darlington, May 12, 1865.
The following resolutions were passed at a meeting of 15th Durham rifle volunteers on the above date:
At a special parade of the 15th Durham rifle volunteers (Darlington) it was unanimously resolved—
1st. That the officers and members have heard with horror and regret of the foul murder which has been perpetrated on Mr. Lincoln, the President of the United States, and they beg leave to tender their sympathies to Mrs. Lincoln and the people of the United States.
2d. That Lieutenant Colonel Scurfield be requested to forward this expression of the feelings of the 15th Durham rifle volunteers to Mr. Adams, the representative of the United States of America in London.
