Cornelius Rourke will be a candidate for Sergent of Arms if it is convenient or rather consistant I should like for you to assist him of course I only expect you to aid through confidential friends it is very important for us to assist Rourk as he has been a great friend to us in getting the Co. vote of Menard for Directors in the T. & P. R. R. and especially he can now be of great service as we have now a New Court and he confidentially has great influence with them &c
