I recd your letter, and feel that I ought to reply to it though I do not know you. I feel for you in your situation as you represent it, but I am not able to help you than many of your neighbors-- You may suppose that the state provides, for persons in your situation, but such is not the case -- I could only give you out of my private means which are very limited and I am called on by a great many-- If you will see Wm Walker Esq and he will write me you are worthy I will send you ($5.00/100) five dollars & you must get others to help you.
