Dear Sir

Please find enclosed the list you wish -- it is as full as I can give it without further delay -- some names familiar to you I have omitted for that reason --

Not having the addrefs of Col Ferry I take the liberty of enclosing my letter to him --

I received a letter by the last mail from our friend J. H. Reed who formerly edited the Aledo Record he requests me to obtain a house for him as he has purchased an interest in the "Monmouth Atlas" and is coming to take the Editorial Chair on the 1st of September -- The "Atlas" will shake off its lethargy and give some signs of vitality when Reed resumes that "mighty instrument of

little men" -- it will not be to the "Monmouth Review" (which is, if possible more vile than the Chicago Times) a "grey goose quill" but one of well tempered steel whose strokes it will sorely feel and feeling, writhe but writhe in vain -- Reed has been farming for about two years -- is satisfied with the experience and has returned cheerfully to his old vocation --
