In regard to prominence, there is but little difference, but those in the first column are rather more active, in fact the workers. I could increase the list but I am fearful it would be too burdensome for you. If I can at any time, or in any way assist you further have no hesitancy in commanding my services. I do hope that our next Congress will do something to remove the terrible state of affairs in the Southern States for I can only look with distrust and great fear upon the workings of Pres Johnson's restoration system. union men in this county are about discouraged and unanimously express the conviction that our only remedy for these dreadful evils, is to grant the full benefits of citizenship to all loyal men without distinction of color.
