Sir, By direction of the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Waterford I have the honour to transmit to you copy of Resolution of Citizens in reference to the late melancholy event which unhappily deprived your government of its head and was only through a merciful interposition of Divine Providence, frustrated in your behalf.
Permit me sir to offer you my sincere protestations of sympathy and condolence which I feel in common with all classes of my fallen Citizens.
