CONSULATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AT THE Free Hanseatic city of Bremen

Notice.

His Excellency Andrew Johnson, President of the United States of America, having, appointed thursday, June 1st, to be observed as "a day of special humiliation and prayer" in view of our recent national bereavement by the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, appropriate divine services will be held on that day in the Methodist Chapel, 59 George Street, commencing at 11 1/2 o'clock. Providence permitting the Rev. Bishop R. S. Janes of Newyork-a personal friend of Lincoln-will preach upon the occasion. All citizens and friends of the United States are respectfully invited to attend.
