The entire municipality of Salza Irpina, full of horror for the assassination consummated upon the person of the illustrious President, Abraham Lincoln, deliberated unanimously to express their sentiments of grief for that horrible event; also, of the sentiment of sympathy which this population feel for the people of America, and for the sacred cause courageously fought for by the martyrs who are now pitied by all Europe; and the municipality begs the mayor to send a copy of this act to the American consul at Naples.
