Head Quarters U. S. Forces,
Bowling Green, Ky., April 16th 1863.
Governor,
I beg most respectfully to remind you of the application of W. H. Bradbury of the 129th Ill: Vols: for a Commission as First Lieutenant in the State Militia, which was forwarded to you about the 28th Ult:
The endorsed recommendations by which the application was supported, are well deserved; and the appointment sought for would result in good to the Service, as it would obviate the necessity of detaching from an organized Regiment an officer, who could not be so well qualified as one whose early education, & experience in this particular department have adapted for the position.
I should be glad to have the honor of a reply at your early convenience.
I have the honor to be most resply your obt Servt.
R. C. Kise.
Asst. Adjt. Genl.
