Dear Sir: I am informed that James Hamilton of a Co D 101st Regt Ills. Vol. is now confined in your hospital and the prospect of his recovery doubtful.

If consistent with the interest of the service, I would request that he be examined for a discharge, Please report result of examination to this office

Respectfully returned to his Excellency Richard Yates, Governor Illinois. I have examined the within named soldier and do not consider him a fit subject for discharge His disease is Dyspepsia. The examining Board will probably transfer him to the Invalid Corps
