Sir
Allow me to introduce to you my friend S. F. Miller Esq a citizen of this State and at present one of my Constituents. He has a proposition to submit to you in reference to Military affairs and I earnestly hope it may meet your approval. There is not a more competent person for the undertaking he proposes than he is. He would have long since tendered his services to the Govnmt but for the condition of his private affairs which have not permitted him before this to do so. Among his warmest friends and supporters are Hon W. B. Ogden, M D Ogden Esq, & our Senator Hon H W Bladgitt, all of whom with a large number of promint gentlemen, as well as myself will feel greatly gratified if you could accept Mr Millers proposition
