Dear Governor
Since I telegraph you last evening at Mrs Yates request that she would be at Chicago to-morrow morning she has changed her mind and concluded not to go. I think she might like to go down the river but does not care to go to Washington. If you should go to Vicksburgh I suppose you will come this way. I wrote to (Sarandy?) yesterday and again today to see you before you left Chicago and I assume he will be in Chicago to-morrow He would have met you there last week but he was engaged & dividing a stock of goods & could not possibly leave There are several matters here which you ought to see about before you leave but about which I will not trouble you now. As soon as you determine which way & when you go please telegraph me
Yours Truly Allen C. Fuller
Fuller A C Adjt Gen
Springfield March 64
Informs Gov' that Mrs Yates does not wish to go east, but would go down the River in preference.
